What are Bio-remodelling injections?

Shellharbour Skin is excited to be one of the first clinics to offer a revolutionary new bio-remodelling injectable treatment*. It is the first of its kind and sits alone in a new class of anti-ageing treatments offering a new approach to global skin revitalisation. This treatment is suitable for all skin types and most adult patients. Although it has just been released to the Australian market, it has a proven safety record having been available for over seven years overseas with more than 4.5 million treatments completed worldwide.

As we age, our skin loses volume and structure due to our body producing less collagen, hyaluronic acid, and elastin. These natural substances are responsible for keeping your skin supple and youthful and providing structural support.

This product is a stabilised form of hyaluronic acid that has a dual action. It both deeply hydrates, as well as stimulates collagen production. Immediately after injection – and for the months after – fine lines and areas of laxity are flooded with hydration. The cells in the dermis layer of the skin are stimulated to produce more collagen and elastin. As a result, skin looks and feels more hydrated, youthful, and vibrant.

Because of the regenerative effects of the injection, the treatment is best completed in two stages 1 month apart, to yield the best, long-lasting outcomes.

Priced at $645 per treatment, with 2 treatments recommended 1 month apart.

Benefits of Bio-remodelling injections

This new bio-remodelling injection is a game changer for patients wanting to reinvigorate and revitalise their skin quality without adding volume to the face. This product uses a high strength form of hyaluronic acid, a substance which is naturally occurring in the skin, to stimulate both collagen and elastin. This improves the appearance of both fine lines and wrinkles while firming and smoothing the skin, leading to a more youthful appearance.

What to expect

This treatment involves five small injections at strategically placed locations on each side of the face, these are referred to as bio-aesthetic points. This treatment can also be used for other areas on the body including the neck, decolletage and hands.

The consultation and treatment can both be completed during a 30 minute consultation. This treatment is generally well tolerated but we can apply a topical anaesthetic if required. Another advantage of this treatment is the minimal downtime. Following this treatment the injection sites resemble an insect bite, with this quickly subsiding within a few hours and patients fit to resume normal activities the following day.

It will not fill or volumise like traditional, structural fillers and there is no risk of looking ‘overdone’ as many patients do fear with dermal fillers.

What is the cost

This treatment costs $645 per area as a stand-alone procedure with a reduced price when combined with other treatments. We recommend a second treatment after 4-6 weeks. You can book online, alternatively call our reception team to discuss further, or book in for a complimentary consultation.

Results

Following treatment, results will take 4-6 weeks to fully become visible. Most patients find the results lasting at least 6-12 months. Further treatments may be considered as a top up 1-2 times per year to maintain the results.

Aftercare

To ensure proper healing and the best possible results, your clinician will provide you with an aftercare plan that can include:

  • Not wearing makeup for 24 hours after treatment.
  • Avoiding exercise for the first 24 hours.
  • Not using active skincare products for at least five days post-treatment.
  • Avoiding skin treatments that could apply pressure or stress to the skin, such as microdermabrasion, skin needling, and facial massages for four weeks.
  • Avoiding inverted poses and keeping your head elevated for the first four hours after treatment.

Risks & complications

No matter what treatment patients choose to undergo, whether cosmetic or medical, there are always associated risks and complications which you should be aware of before deciding on a treatment. Bio-remodelling injections carry the following risks and complications:

  • Infection
